Petite Grenouille, Lumière d'Argent. Collection Lumière d’argent, près de 36 pièces créées par Christofle entre 1987 et 1994 dans sa manufacture de Saint-Denis. Les différents animaux, en métal argenté, sont agrémentés d’yeux en onyx. Ces pièces ont été réalisées dans les ateliers Christofle selon une technique très particulière : une partie étant réalisée en fonte tandis que des éléments d’abord travaillés et détaillés en plaque tel un patron, étaient ensuite mis à la forme pour s’associer entre eux et créer l’animal choisi. Cette technique explique la variété des attitudes, la précision accrue des détails. Les différents rendus des surfaces légèrement incisées rappellent les premiers bijoux de Christofle qui avait recours à une technique de tissus métallique, proche du filigrane, dont il avait déposé le brevet en 1837.

This small silver-plated snake made its first appearance in Christofle's catalogs in 2001. It is part of the Lumière d'Argent collection designed by Christofle's from 1986. In the 2000s, the collection changed its name to "Animals". From the same period, the Chinese zodiac sign became a new source of inspiration every year.
