Palm Beach royalty and definer of hospitality, Sarah Wetenhall opens the doors to her chic island home,

just steps from The Colony Hotel, which she and husband Andrew have lovingly reimagined since 2016.

Greetings from Florida
with Sarah Wetenhall

In Sarah's world, the art of the table is lived out daily - with grace, beauty, and a silver thread that ties it all together.

A signature table

As the season turns, she hosts a fall apéritif in her sunlit dining hall, a space where charm meets tradition. Mimosas glimmer in Iriana crystal goblets, while champagne chills in the Vertigo bucket, awaiting the perfect toast. Silver bangle bowls filled with small bites sit alongside a Vertigo three-part server, each piece reflecting the soft amber light of early evening.

Fall decorative table

At the heart of the room, a grand large Babylone vase overflows with autumn blooms.
With an effortless blend of grace and glamour, Sarah transforms even the most intimate gathering into an occasion to remember.

Add a vintage touch

The space glows with silver warmth, anchored by Sarah’s treasured La Collection Vintage Christofle Peuplier vase,
perfectly accented with a Louis-Philippe coaster set, a final touch of refinement that captures her signature style: gracious, elegant, and timelessly radiant

What does Christofle mean to you?

I have always felt that Christofle exudes heritage, luxury and sophistication—but not in an obvious way. It whispers refinement.

And yet, so many of Christofle’s pieces–a silver champagne bucket, a crystal wine glass are so beautifully designed that they can’t help but make a statement. It’s both quiet and loud luxury. That kind of understated confidence is what I love most.

What do you love about hosting at home in Palm Beach?

Hosting in Palm Beach is really about that easy indoor-outdoor flow. I have these huge Nanawalls that open from the dining room right into the backyard—it makes everything feel relaxed and connected.

When I entertain at home, it is definitely elegant but not formal. Never stiff. I want people to feel comfortable—take your shoes off, curl up on the sofa, help yourself. I host the same way we approach hospitality at The Colony: thoughtful, beautiful, but never precious. I usually serve family-style. I love a buffet if I have over-decorated the table (which happens).

I do love a beautiful table. It’s how I express creativity and set the tone for the evening. It’s like a visual cue for the energy I want for the evening. For my table, I always mix vintage and modern. I happen to have a lot of Christofle, some bought, some inherited, all loved and used often.

I pair it with my grandmother’s china, so it’s all layered and a little eclectic. I also collect pink cabbage ware that I like to mix in. I think that’s the trick: if you love it, it will work together.

Do you have any hard rules for hosting?

No rules! I like to tailor everything to the moment. Who’s coming? What’s the vibe? That said, I like things to feel intimate, even when it’s a big group. So when I can, I cook myself—though it’s hard to compete with the chefs at The Colony.

Favorite Christofle collection or piece?

I’m obsessed with Christofle’s vintage pieces. Christofle has started buying back their older collections, restoring, certifying and re-selling them in-store and online, and it’s genius. I’ve been collecting their vintage for years —and I inherited some from my husband’s family—so finding a way to expand that through Christofle directly just makes sense. It’s special.

As for current collections, I love Vertigo. It’s simple, really elegant, and perfect for our home in New York. It still feels like Christofle, just with a modern edge.

Go-to recipe or cocktail?

Jameson Black Barrel on a big rock with a slice of orange. That’s my cocktail, always. And I’m a comfort food girl at heart. I grew up outside Kansas City on a dairy farm, so I love Midwestern classics.

Nothing fancy, just food that makes people feel taken care of. At home, I go with what I know and love.
