Marly, named after a now-demolished pleasure palace built by Louis XIV on the outskirts of Paris, has been one of the most detailed and richly decorated motifs in the Christofle catalog since its creation in 1897. Its refined engraving is an exquisite example of the Rocaille style, featuring asymmetrical motifs of climbing plants and seashells.
Marly is one of the most elaborately decorated patterns of the collection; the fine chasing of its asymmetrical plant motifs, typical of the “Rocaille” or Louis XV style, highlight the silversmith’s expertise and attention to detail.
