250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories

Organized by Comité Colbert, Hidden Treasures: 250 Years of Franco-American Luxury Stories arrives in New York City to celebrate 250 years of cultural exchange between France and the United States.

Hosted at The Shed, the exhibition brings together iconic French maisons, including Christofle, through immersive storytelling and craftsmanship.

A CELEBRATION THROUGH HISTORY

The Hidden Treasures explores how French luxury and craftsmanship have shaped artistic, cultural, and diplomatic connections with the United States over the past 250 years.

The exhibition creates a dialogue between heritage and contemporary creation, bringing together over 65 iconic French maisons and cultural institutions to showcase archival treasures, contemporary creations, and storytelling experiences that highlight the lasting influence of French savoir-faire on American culture and lifestyle.

By participating, the maison highlights its enduring role in shaping the art of luxury dining and transatlantic hospitality through a curated presentation inspired by the legendary Normandie ocean liner, for which the Maison created nearly 45,000 silver-plated pieces in 1935.

At the exhibition, The Art of Silver at Sea will present: a curated showcase of historic silver-plated pieces created for the legendary ocean liner Normandie, featuring a champagne bucket, vegetable dish, and cloche with platter from the Conservatoire Bouilhet-Christofle Collection

OUR PART

On May 21, 2026, the Maison will also host an exclusive in-boutique silent auction event with a vintage expert talk led by Cameron Steiner, champagne and caviar experiences by CY Kitchen, and curated tabletop displays showcasing vintage and Haute Orfèvrerie creations.
The event aims to amplify excitement around the Comité Colbert exhibition while supporting God's Love We Deliver, with 10% of event sales donated to the organization.

The Hidden Treasures experience will then extend to our Madison Avenue boutique through dedicated window displays and in-store exhibitions inspired by its transatlantic heritage,
featuring iconic pieces from the legendary Transatlantique Normandie and celebrating the Maison’s enduring connection to the golden age of ocean travel.

Our Ecom Exclusives

In parallel with the exhibition, Christofle will also offer three exclusive e-commerce vintage pieces inspired by the Maison’s heritage universe: a Vintage Silvered Glass Coaster Set, a Vintage Silvered Cream Pitcher, and a Vintage Silvered Toothpick Holder.

Extending beyond the exhibition, Christofle will bring this universe to life through dedicated Madison Avenue boutique installations inspired by its maritime heritage and timeless art de vivre, featuring historic-inspired tabletop creations, archival silver pieces, and vintage objects that reflect the elegance of transatlantic dining.

Toothpick Holder

Inspired by the refined geometry of the Art Deco movement, this toothpick holder features clean lines and subtle decorative detailing that reflect the elegance of early 20th-century design.

Marked with the Compagnie Générale Maritime et Financière logo, the piece captures Christofle’s legacy of sophisticated table accessories created for the golden age of transatlantic travel.

Cream Pitcher

Part of the iconic Transat tea and coffee service created for the legendary Normandie ocean liner, this cream pitcher reflects the refined elegance of Art Deco design through its clean, understated lines.

Adorned with the emblem of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, the piece embodies Christofle’s heritage of sophisticated craftsmanship and luxury hospitality at sea.

Glass Coaster Set

Created around 1950, these silver-plated Contours glass coasters are delicately engraved with the name of the Compagnie Générale Transatlantique, the renowned shipping company behind some of the 20th century’s most prestigious ocean liners.

The pieces honor the historic craftsmanship, including its celebrated commission of nearly 45,000 silver-plated pieces for the legendary Normandie in 1935.
