Les objets miroir

The art of 21st century living.

With two very unusual novelties, a cup and a sneakers box, designed by the Art Recherche Industrie agency, Christofle moves its attention to the art of 21st-century living, innovating by transforming everyday objects, often considered disposable, into precious objects to embellish our daily lives.

Le gobelet

Ever since the 19th century, Christofle has been creating beautiful tea and coffee services that have won numerous awards at Universal Exhibitions.

Christofle's Coffee Cup has a double wall vacuum-insulated for hot drinks. For your cold drinks, you can use a silvery metal straw (for example, the UNI Straw B04248362 matches perfectly with this cup). The staw is sold separately from the coffee cup.

This coffee cup with the Christofle logo engraved on the front has a lid with a little round hole that allows you to sip your drink wherever you go.

The lid is emblazoned with the Christofle crest made from a mix of precious metals, showing two bees and three stars framing the letters OC for "Orfèvrerie Christofle" ("Christofle Silversmiths").

La boîte à sneakers

After more than a century of creating jewellery boxes of all kinds, Christofle has now designed a box for precious objects of a new kind: sneakers

Objects highly sought-after around the world by enlightened and demanding collectors, sneakers are often stored with extreme care in their boxes, kept in orderly stacks in rooms set aside for the purpose.

These sports shoes, which became highly desirable with the creation of hip-hop in New York in the 1970s, acquired cult status in the 1980s, with collaborations between major sports shoe brands and American basketball stars.

Adored and worn by millions of people, the sneaker has moved in less than thirty years from counterculture to pop culture and then to cult status.

In recent years, the prestigious auction house Sotheby's has created a department dedicated exclusively to sports footwear, just like those for impressionist art, photography or jewellery. In 2021, a new record was set by a pair of Nike Air Ships from 1984, worn by Michael Jordan, which were sold for $1,472,000 at a Sotheby's sale in Las Vegas.

With sneakers raised to the rank of a work of art, the obvious next step was for Christofle to create a case especially for them: a silvery metal case lined with green velvet, with a lid featuring two notches for ease of handling. This sneakers box is designed for perfectionists and combines practicality with extreme elegance.
