Description
Dupérier Candlestick, model produced by Christofle in 1982. This piece is a copy of a pair of torches in the Metropolitan Museum in New York. A vestige of Louis XIV-style silversmithing, it also celebrates the talent of Louis Dupérier, who was awarded the title of Master in 1706, during the reign of Louis XIV. With this piece, Christofle demonstrates its ability to faithfully reproduce historical pieces. It also echoes the role Christofle played in the 19th century in offering copies of museum pieces using the technique of Galvanoplasty. This Christofle torch thus celebrates both a part of the history of silversmithing and the history of the company itself.
Christofle Vintage Collection pieces are second hand pieces selected and authenticated by Christofle. They are pieces in good condition and restored in our workshops in Yainville (Normandy)... More information
