You can recognize a Christofle product by its master's hallmark. Each silversmith's hallmark is unique, acting as their signature that certifies the authenticity of the piece. Christofle’s hallmark has always included scales, a bee, stars, laurels, and two letters. Originally, these were the initials of the founder, "CC" for Charles Christofle, which changed to "OC" for Orfèvrerie Christofle starting in 1935.
