Pompon cultery is offered by Christofle in silver-plated or gilded. The handles of this cutlery replicate the twisted aspect of the threads making up the pompom, reproducing the idea of the fluid movement of the threads of the passementerie. The entangled threads thus follow curved, irregular, undulating lines. ?

Christofle buys the patents for silver plating and gilding by electrolysis which gave birth to silver metal in France. He becomes a goldsmith.
