Created in 1891 by the Christofle workshops, this vases is characteristic of the naturalist movement, at a time when fauna and flora inspired the creation of objects and works of art, just before Art Nouveau stylized its forms to the extreme.
This vase represents several carrots with astonishing realism, an abundance of detail in the ornamentation and foliage. This vase of 10,5cm in height is made of patinated silver-plated metal, a technique that brings out the reliefs of the decor for a chiseled finish.

The Historic Collections celebrate the audacity
of the Maison’s archives through a contemporary
reinterpretation of the Chute de Glycines vase,
originally created in 1917 and inspired by the
art of dinanderie.
Entirely handcrafted in the Haute Orfèvrerie
workshops in Normandy, this spectacular and
generously sized vase combines a matte brushed
finish on its body with a mirror-polished motif
that shines with radiant reflections. A duality of
textures that enhances the Art Nouveau pattern.

of spinning, chasing, and polishing
Christofle buys the patents for silver plating and gilding by electrolysis which gave birth to silver metal in France. He becomes a goldsmith.
