For the Sève d'argent collection, Studio Christofle reinterprets the Surtout, with independent pieces that are assembled to form a central piece.
This Surtout is reminiscent of a forest of lights: the photophores and vases create a play of lights and a mirror effect thanks to the mirrored trays located behind.
The Surtout gathers a candlestick, a small and a large candle holder, a small vase, a soliflore and two trays of different shapes. The motifs of the lights and vases are inspired by nature: birch, pine and chestnut bark. The soliflore is made by casting, its decoration inspired by the chestnut bark is enhanced by the silver.
The soliflore rests on a cork base to protect your surfaces.
The Surtout will bring light and freshness to your celebrations, but not only. It will become the centerpiece of your home all year long.
Christofle buys the patents for silver plating and gilding by electrolysis which gave birth to silver metal in France. He becomes a goldsmith.
