This heart-shaped fish belongs to the Lumières d’Argent collection, developed by Christofle from the 1980s onwards. Featured in the catalogue between 1996 and 2001, this piece is adorned with a topaz-coloured ornament that adds warmth and character to the brilliance of the silver.
Christofle buys the patents for silver plating and gilding by electrolysis which gave birth to silver metal in France. He becomes a goldsmith.
