Art and material, Glassware and porcelain
Traditionally, the goldsmith decorates crystal and porcelain. Christofle, creates frames for these two materials. First ones are produced by the Maison in the aftermath of the Second World War. Highlight on these universes whose expertise requires fire tame. Through its know-how, Maison Christofle demonstrates that crystal, porcelain and silverware are complementaries and respond to each other. Transparency, color and ligth show invite themselves to the most beautiful tables and interiors.
Crystal Clarity
Crystal is preferred for beverage services. Its transparency highlights the wine color and the amber of spirits.
On the other hand, ceramic is used for food. Some of them being resistant to high temperatures, ceramic plates dedicated to very hot dishes are often equipped with ceramic lining. Easy to clean, non-oxidizing, crystal and ceramic are associated with metal on some items such as salt shakers, housewares' burettes, vases and platters.
Fine Porcelain
In 1992, in order to present its new porcelain collections with shimmering decorations, Christofle realized the largest porcelain plate in the world with an Orientalys decor. This achievement was registered in the Guinness Book of Records the same year.
