The Christofle silversmith's house revisits table practices with its new collection essential cutlery called Infini Christofle. The infinite ridge characterizes the design of this new collection.
The new flatware set for 6 people (24 pieces) is composed of: 6 dinner forks, 6 dinner knifes, 6 large universal spoons, 6 small universal spoons.
Studio Christofle in refrence to the style of Louis XIV, has created a center piece around the french design of surtout, with independent pieces that are assembled to form a centre piece.
The square center piece is slightly raised and decorated with a silver metal border. The bottom of the tray is made of a mirror reflecting the beauty of the pieces that can be placed on it.
The term "Surtout" appeared in the last years of the reign of Louis XIV with the arrival of the French service.
The center piece was used to display serving items such as salt shakers, spice boxes, oil dishes, vinegar dishes and sugar bowls, items that remained on the table throughout the meal.
Studio Christofle reinterprets the Surtout, with independent pieces that are assembled to form a central piece. THE SURTOUT IS THE MOST SOLEMN PIECE THAT SITS ON THE TABLE.
The semi-circular tray is slightly raised and decorated with silver metal around the edge. The bottom of the tray is made of a mirror reflecting the beauty of the pieces that can be placed on it. This play of lights and silver reflections compose a magnificent set.
The term "Surtout" appeared in the last years of the reign of Louis XIV with the arrival of the French service. The Surtout was used to display serving items such as salt shakers, spice boxes, oil dishes, vinegar dishes and sugar bowls, items that remained on the table throughout the meal. With the evolution of the uses, the Surtout gradually lost its utilitarian function to become a table decoration, a prestigious distinction.
The Limoges porcelain dinner plate in the Albi pattern has gilded details and is the perfect size for main courses. The Albi line, created in 1968, takes its inspiration from a French town located between Toulouse and Bordeaux and its famous cathedral known for its remarkable architecture, clean straight lines and single nave.
To celebrate the launch of the Infini Christofle flatware, Sarah Espeute created a hand-embroidered tablecloth in trompe l'oeil. This trick of the eye brings to life a vibrant and modern table.

A legend at Christofle says that it is Charles himself who invented the napkin ring! Unique personal item on the table, it designates every guest to a seat. Charles' family was very close; this is why each napkin ring is inspired by women who have marked his life: Anne, Hyacinthe, Anne-Henriette, Rosine and Marie-Rose.
The Anne napkin ring represents Charles Christofle's mother (1772-1812). She passed along her taste for business to Charles, and gave him the name "Christofle". Through this collection, the Maison invites you around the family table of Charles Christofle. This napkin ring is silver-plated and has a rectangular shape. It is perfect for personalization and engraving.
