Description
The Mavelot key ring collection is a tribute to the greatest clients of Christofle since 1830. They have contributed to the influence of our House. Sterling silver key ring representing interlaced initials whose intertwining is inspired by the monograms designed by Charles Mavelot in the 17th century. Made as jewelry, the silver is highlighted by its mirror polished finish.
The Marquise de Païva or Blanche de Païva (initials BB), from her maiden name Thérèse Lachmann, was born in Russia in 1819 and led a life that can be described as romantic and exciting. In 1866, after ten years, the work was completed. In 1867 she commissioned a silver and vermeil tea service, the "Peau de Lion" service, designed by Charles Rossigneux for Christofle. She then completed it with cutlery of the same model. Today, the Patte de Lion jewelry collection is directly inspired by this collection. In 1873, at the Vienna World's Fair, the Marquise acquired new Christofle pieces.
