Created in 1897, the Marly collection is distinguished by its finely chased Rocaille decoration, inspired by the Château de Marly of Louis XIV and defined by scrolling foliage and shell motifs emblematic of French decorative arts.
Having become famous, Maison Christofle was solicited by foreign sovereigns such as Emperor Maximilian of Mexico, the Tsar of Russia, Germany of the Kaiser, the Austro-Hungarian Empire and Sultan Abdulaziz of the Ottoman Empire.
